Learning from Experience.
Martin Luther, one of the greatest Christian reformers, once said – “there is nothing, outside of experience” – the operative word here, as in all genuine learning processes, being ‘experience’. The German equivalent ‘erfahren’ means “to travel through unknown territory, to familiarise oneself with it”. This is precisely what we have done in 2010 and will continue to do in this important development phase of the International Federation of the Blue Cross (henceforth referred to as ‘International Blue Cross’). We wish to continue to learn from our experiences on the ground, by investing in, and committing to, new areas of professional project work, while reflecting systematically on the learning outcomes of each individual engagement.
