What the Blue Cross does
The Blue Cross provides healthcare and holistic well-being. It
is dedicated to
-
caring for people dependent on alcohol and/or illicit drugs,
and for their family members as well;
-
preventing alcohol- and illicit drug-related harm on local,
national, and international levels – especially among
children and youth.
The Blue Cross is a supporter, counsellor, and encourager. It
is a provider of practical help and developer of useful
skills. It is an aid to recovery.
Blue Cross activities may vary depending on the context,
needs, and resources available. Overall, they are
characterised by the choice of, and emphasis on, an integrated
approach to
prevention,
treatment & counselling, and
aftercare.
